Policies

The following are the main policies at Tip of Spear. These have been established to lay a framework for mutual respect in doing business and working together, so that expectations are clear and fair. If you have any questions on our policies, please contact us.

General Policies:

  • No outdoor shoes or shoes with heels are permitted on the gymnasium mats to preserve the life of the floors and keep it clean for those doing ground training. You are welcome to wear socks or bring clean indoor shoes.

  • No smoking, vaping or other activities that affect other students are permitted.

  • No firearms or live ammunition are permitted in the facility.

  • No dogs are permitted in the facility except with permission.

  • Everyone who enters the facility must treat all staff and students with the utmost respect.

If any of these policies are broken, the student will receive one warning. If they do not comply, they will be asked to leave the facility.

Student Conduct

All students are to treat each other and the instructors with respect. An instructor's instructions much be followed at all times as it is their responsibility to control the activities of the class. If an instructor directs you to stop an activity...stop. Failure to follow direction from the instructor is cause for removal as it could endanger other students in the class.

Activities that are not permitted:

  • Horseplay (the leading cause of injuries)

  • Inappropriate speed for technique to learners abilities

  • Unsafe equipment use or not as directed by the instructor

  • Doing activities that require protective gear without protective gear (such as sparring)

  • Doing technique or other activities not taught in the class by the instructor

Refund Policy

Beginner Classes:

Sessions can be paid as a one-time or a three-part payment. If a cancellation is requested within one (1) week before the start date of the beginner session, full refunds will be issued. No refunds are issued once classes begin. Partial refunds may be granted up to the day before the classes are scheduled to start, at Tip of Spear's discretion.

The three-part payment is not a pay-as-you-go monthly subscription. If a student cancels partway through the session and have chosen to pay the three-part payment, they are still obligated to finish making all three payments as indicated upon registration.

Intermediate/Advanced Classes Monthly Passes:

Passes for Advanced Classes can be cancelled at anytime without penalty yourself through our online system or by emailing us. Refunds are not granted on first month's registrations or for previous months where memberships were not used. Partial refunds for passes partially used will not be issued.

Full refunds will be issued if a cancellation is requested five (5) or more business days before seminar.

Private Classes, T-shirts and Gear:

Refunds are granted on private classes, t-shirts and other gear if requested within 2 weeks of purchase and provided the items have not been used.
